How to clear a browser's cache
Introduction
Sometimes Engage or the Web Ministry Tool you are working in does not behave as expected. If this happens, you can clear the browser cache to see if this will fix the issue. In this article, we will explain what the browser cache is and how you can clear it in the more popular browsers of Windows and macOS.
It is not expected that you should need to clear your browser's cache unless there is a specific issue. If you find you need to routinely clear your cache for Engage to function properly, please contact technical support to troubleshoot the root cause.
What is a browser cache?
Browser cache exists to give the end user a better Internet experience. Typically, your Internet connection is slower than your computer. It is faster to get something off of your disk drive than it is to download it every time from the Internet. So, it is faster to download it once and keep a copy so the browser can use it again. That’s browser cache.
It is nothing more than a place where the browser keeps things downloaded on your disk drive so the browser can use it again.
There could be times that the web page you are on requires a refresh of the information displayed, but the browser continues to pickup the previously downloaded information from the cache. Going through the process of clearing the cache will require the browser to download everything for that web page the next time it attempts to load the page.
- Open Safari menu and select Preferences.
2. Select the Privacy option and click Manage Website Data...
3. In the Manage Website Data... pane, do the following:
Step 1: Enter 'suran' in the search field.
Step 2: Select the found website.
Step 3: Click Remove
Step 4: Click Done
- Open Chrome menu and select Clear Browsing Data...
2. On the Clear browsing data page, do the following:
Step 1: Select Cached Images and files
Step 2: Click Clear data
- At the upper right of the browser window, click the menu (
) and select Preferences.
2. On the Preferences page, select Privacy & Security
3. Find Cookies and Site Data, then click Manage Data...
4. On the Manage Cookie and Site Data, do the following:
Step 1: Enter 'suran.com'
Step 2: Select the 'suran.com' in the list.
Step 3: Click Remove Selected
Step 4: Click Save Changes
5. Click Remove on the displayed window pane.
- At the upper right of the browser, click the three dots (...) and select Settings.

3. Find Clear browsing data and click Choose what to clear.
4. In the Clear browsing data pane, do the following:
Step 1: Select Cached data and files
Step 2: Click Clear
- At the upper right of the browser, click the three dots (
) and select Settings.
2. Scroll down the page and click Advanced
3. Under Privacy & Security, click Clear browsing data
4. In the Clear browsing data pane, do the following:
Step 1: Select Cached images and files
Step 2: Click Clear data
- At the upper right of the browser window, click the menu (
) and select Options.
2. On the Preferences page, select Privacy & Security
3. Find Cookies and Site Data, then click Manage Data...
4. On the Manage Cookie and Site Data, do the following:
Step 1: Enter 'suran.com'
Step 2: Select the 'suran.com' in the list.
Step 3: Click Remove Selected
Step 4: Click Save Changes
5. Click Remove on the displayed window pane.

- Open Settings from iOS Home Screen and select Safari.

5. (1) Check only Cached Images and Files and (2) Select Clear Browsing Data

5. Select OK to clear cache.
